We believe that technology can help solve some of the problems that trucking faces, and that providing the tools, information, and motivation people need will result in more successful fleets and a thriving industry.

In 2005, when we first came into trucking, we saw an industry that had a lot of training needs, and few good options for meeting those needs. CarriersEdge was created to help get more training to drivers, and to do so without disrupting the rest of the business. Since that time, we've continued to expand our core offerings in a variety of ways - adding content in different subjects and languages, and an ever increasing set of management support functions - but we haven't strayed from our core mission of providing best-in-class driver training options for fleets of all sizes.

Jane Jazrawy & Mark Murrell
Co-Founders

Mark Murrell & Jane Jazrawy are co-founders of CarriersEdge, and creators of the Best Fleets to Drive For program. Having worked together more than 20 years, at 4 different companies, the pair have delivered education and performance improvement solutions to more than 2 million people at companies around the world, in industry sectors as diverse as transportation, mining, manufacturing, finance, hi-tech, retail, and government services.

With the launch of CarriersEdge in 2005, and Best Fleets to Drive For in 2008, Murrell and Jazrawy have focused on helping North American trucking companies improve the overall quality of their drivers and both are active writers, speakers, and industry advocates.

Launched in 2008, Best Fleets to Drive For® is the only annual program dedicated to uncovering the best workplaces in the North American trucking industry. Produced by CarriersEdge, in partnership with Truckload Carriers Association, Best Fleets to Drive For recognizes the for-hire fleets providing exceptional workplace experiences for their company drivers and independent contractors.

Each year, we do in-depth interviews with the 100+ nominated fleets, collect thousands of driver surveys, and identify the most successful programs and emerging trends across the industry. In addition to recognizing winners in multiple categories, we also share those findings through press stories, webinars, and public presentations at various industry events.

Senior Mobile Developer

The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in the skills outlined below, a great work ethic, and a keen interest in expanding their knowledge of web application development and best practices.

What the position requires

  • Outstanding analytic and problem-solving skills, married with the maturity to know when to dig in yourself and when to escalate
  • Comfort with remote work and ability to thrive with minimal supervision
  • Desire to work with a software product company and develop a deep relationship with the core application
  • A meticulous approach to the design and construction of code, and continuous effort to streamline, optimize, and improve
  • Post-secondary degree in computer science, or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years development experience
  • 3+ years mobile development experience
  • Expert level skills in at least one of Java, Objective-C, Swift, or JavaScript
  • Demonstrated expertise in iOS and Android development (either native or Cordova/PhoneGap)
  • Experience with the full lifecycle of mobile development – design through publishing
  • Experience developing multilingual and/or multimedia apps would be an asset
  • Experience with any of the following would be an asset: Single Sign On, HTML5 Offline Applications, InterApp Communication
